Talking to Matt Mullenweg, co-founder of Wordpress

Okay - sorry for the delay on the updating round here! I've been spending my time wandering around SXSW, meeting lots of people and talking about some really interesting stuff.
I had a great chat with
Matt Mullenweg one of the co-founders of
Wordpress. He talked about some of the new and emerging trends and ideas they have for the future of what's become one of the biggest blogging platforms.
A big question that came up was "Are there any intentions to move Wordpress towards being a content management system and making it easier for people to build and run simple websites that aren't necessarily blogs?" His answer to this was pretty much "No" - that's not the direction they are going.
On the subject of what Wordpress was becoming he was interested to hear about
Name in Lights that we launched last week.
And there was some interest in having a shared "for the clients" training site, where anybody who's building Wordpress sites for clients could send them so that they could get some simple video training just to help with the learning curve the system presents. Should be good - I'm looking forward to that!
